Black in White Poetry Competition 2025

The Transforming Words Foundation presents the Black in White Poetry Competition 2025, helping to illuminate race-related issues that many people of colour experience. The competition aims to help build understanding and drive change.

This year’s category themes are ‘workplace racism’ and ‘childhood racism.’

1st prize: £250
2nd prize: £125
3rd prize: £75

The winning poems and approximately 25 highly commended entries will be published in a new Black in White anthology, to be launched in October 2025 during Black History Month. All contributors will receive a complimentary copy.

Judged by Charlotte Shyllon and a guest judge yet to be confirmed.
