Fool for Poetry International Pamphlet/Chapbook Competition
Inviting new, emerging and established poets internationally to submit manuscripts between 16 and 24 pages in length. Submissions must be in the English language and the poems can be in verse or prose.
Any number of the individual poems may have been published before in journals, anthologies and periodicals – the only restriction is that they cannot have appeared together as a book. Entrants may submit more than one entry. The winners will be selected by a panel of renowned poets; previous judges include James Harpur and Victoria Kennnefick.
The winning chapbooks will be published by Southword Editions and launched at the Cork International Poetry Festival.
Prizes:
1st
€1000, publication of chapbook, 4* hotel accommodation with board and reading slot at Cork International Poetry Festival May 2026, 25 copies of chapbook.
2nd
2nd Prize €500, publication of chapbook, 4* hotel accommodation with board and reading slot at Cork International Poetry Festival, 25 copies of chapbook.
Up to 25 other entrants will also be publicly listed as “highly commended”.
