King's English Society June 2026 Poetry Competition

The King’s English Society Poetry Competition is now open to all, on the theme of ‘Statue(s)’.
Each entrant may submit two poems not previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere and poems can be up to 20 lines long. Every poem must be headed ‘King’s English Society Poetry Competition’- please see the website for more details.
The judge is Poet in Residence Dorothy Pope.
Results will be announced on 6 July 2026. The author of the winning poem will receive £200 and the runner-up will receive £100. Both poems will be published on the King’s English Society website and social media platforms, and in the next issue of the Society’s quarterly magazine Quest.
