motorcitysixty poetry competition

Thu 20 Mar 2025

Clevedon LitFest is now open for submissions for the motorcitysixty poetry competition, which marks the 60th anniversary of the first Motown Revue tour outside the USA in 1965.

Entrants worldwide, aged 19 and over, are welcome to submit up to three previously unpublished poems per entry. Poems must be no more than 50 lines in length (excluding title), and are recommended to interpret the ways in which music from the Motown era, and the subsequent music genres influenced by Motown, has made an impact in people’s lived experiences.

The winning poet will receive a cash prize of £1000. The top 50 winning and shortlisted entries will be featured in an anthology, and a prize giving night, as part of the Clevedon LitFest summer festival in June 2025.

Judge: Adam White
