New Writers Poetry Competition

The New Writers Poetry Competition 2025 invites poets from around the globe to submit their original poems (of up to 42 lines) for a chance to win a share of the £1,800 prize fund and gain international recognition.
Prizes:
– 1st place: £1,200
– 2nd place: £300
– 3rd place: £150
– 4th to 6th places: £50 each.
The six winning poems will be published on the NewWriters.org.uk website and in the next New Writers Anthology. 10% of the proceeds of the competition will be split between two UK-registered charities: First Story, and The Funzi and Bodo Trust.
A limited number of free entries are available to low-income poets. Please see the website for details.
