Hanya Yanagihara: A Little Life at 10
A decade on, celebrate the exquisite story and the friendships at its heart with an address from the author, and readings from the novel by acclaimed actors.
A Little Life is the author’s million-copy bestselling second novel, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, the Baileys Prize for Women’s Fiction, won Fiction of the Year at the British Book Awards and was a finalist for the National Book Awards.
The actors reading from the novel are Omari Douglas, Celia Nelson, Ben Norris and James Norton.
Omari Douglas is a BAFTA and Olivier nominated actor. He has starred in Netflix’s Black Doves and Channel 4/HBO’s It’s A Sin, for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor. His theatre work includes A Little Life and Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.
Celia Nelson trained at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Her work in theatre includes The Seagull at the Barbican and Oedipus at The Wyndhams, and her work in radio includes BBC Radio 4’s The Archers.
Ben Norris is an actor, poet, theatre-maker and film-maker. He co-created and starred in the Olivier nominated West End musical The Choir of Man, and is the voice of Ben Archer in The Archers on BBC Radio 4. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
James Norton is an Olivier, BAFTA and BIFA nominated actor. He stars in Stephen Knight’s House of Guinness, currently airing on Netflix. He was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor for his performance as ‘Jude’ in Ivo Van Hove’s West End adaptation of A Little Life.
