Poets Kit Fan, Degna Stone and Jason Allen-Paisant join host Joelle Taylor for this evening's show, with music from Emmeline and Jack Flash.
Each monthly gig is hosted by TS Eliot and Polari Prize-winning poet Taylor, with Bromfield spinning the best in reggae, soul and R&B throughout the evening.
Jason Allen-Paisant is a Jamaican writer and academic who works as a senior lecturer in critical theory and creative writing at the University of Manchester. He's the author of two poetry collections, Thinking with Trees (Carcanet Press, 2021), winner of the 2022 OCM Bocas Prize for poetry, and Self-Portrait as Othello (Carcanet Press, 2023), winner of the Forward Prize for Best Collection. His non-fiction book, Scanning the Bush, will be published in 2024.
Degna Stone is a poet and poetry editor based in north-east England. They are a contributing editor at The Rialto and a co-founder of Butcher's Dog poetry magazine. They received a Northern Writers' Award for poetry in 2015 and a Hawthornden Fellowship in 2019. Their debut full-length collection, Proof of Life on Earth, is available from Nine Arches Press.
Kit Fan's third poetry collection The Ink Cloud Reader (2023) is shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize and Forward Prize. He is the author of two books of poems, As Slow As Possible (2018) and Paper Scissors Stone (2011). His first novel is Diamond Hill (2021). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a board member of the Author's Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS).
Emmeline began writing spoken word with Manchester-based collective Young Identity when she was 17, before going on to win SLAMbassadors. After studying English at Oxford and then graduating with a master's in literary non-fiction, she was picked up by Grammy-winning producer Fraser T. Smith (Stormzy, Adele, Dave) and signed with his record label. She recently went on tour with Mike Skinner and The Streets, and is embarking on the next phase of her musical output by collaborating with some of the most exciting up-and-coming producers in the UK for a new unreleased project. She was named by The Guardian as one of last year's 'Ones to Watch'.

Our address is: Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London SE1 8XX. The nearest tube and train stations within 5-7 minutes walk are Waterloo (Northern, Bakerloo, Jubilee and Waterloo & City lines) and Embankment (District & Circle lines). There are also lots of bus routes with stops 2-5 minutes from our venues. For more information on getting here by road, rail or river.
Pre-booking online is recommended. Check our website on the day for returns. There’s no need to print your e-ticket – just show your phone to our Visitor Assistants on entry.
Some free events don't require a ticket. Found an event labelled FREE on our website with no way to book? Simply turn up on the day.

Toilets
An accessible toilet is located in the foyer.
A Changing Places toilet is located on Level 1 Royal Festival Hall next to the JCB Glass Lift, for the exclusive use of disabled people who need personal assistance to use the toilet.
The facility includes a height-adjustable bench, tracking hoist system, a centrally-placed toilet, a height-adjustable basin and a shower. The key for this room is available from the Welcome Hub on Level 2, Royal Festival Hall. The facility is open daily 10am – 11pm.
Cloakroom
The Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room cloakroom is closed. You won’t be able to bring any bags over 40 x 25 x 25cm into the venues, so please leave large bags at home.

Purcell Room is located in Queen Elizabeth Hall. For step-free access please use Royal Festival Hall JCB glass lift to Level 2 and enter via Riverside Terrace.
Talk to a member of staff at the auditorium entrance if you have a disability that means you can’t queue, or you need extra time to take your seat. They can arrange priority entry for you as soon as the doors open.
