London Literature Festival

17 – 27 Oct 2019

Southbank Centre's London Literature Festival returns for its thirteenth year this October, bringing together today's leading writers, thinkers and cultural observers for 11 days of talks, readings, poetry and performance.

This year's edition will once again open with Poetry International, Southbank Centre's longest running festival, founded by Ted Hughes, former Poet Laureate, in 1967.

Previous festival participants include Salman Rushdie, Akala, Margaret Atwood, Philip Pullman, Claudia Rankine, Carol Ann Duffy, Louis Theroux, Roger Daltrey, Chibundu Onuzo, Lauren Child, Juno Dawson, Nikesh Shukla, Joy Harjo, Terrance Hayes, Tom Hanks, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Sally Field.

The programme for 2019’s London Literature Festival and Poetry International will be announced in the summer.

If you would like to submit an author or event for Southbank Centre's London Literature Festival, please get in touch with our Literature team.

Please note that we programme events 6 months in advance. Your proposal will be logged for the Literature team to consider and if the team need further info, they will be in touch directly in due course.
