The enigmatic electronic jazz group treats us to an awe-inspiring streamed performance from the Royal Festival Hall.

In their debut streamed event and first performance at the Southbank Centre, the band plays tracks from latest album To Believe as well as their hits.

Called ‘heartbreakingly brilliant’ by The Guardian, To Believe explores a timeless question of vital importance in today’s world: what is truth?

The album features contributions from collaborators old and new, including Moses Sumney, Roots Manuva, Dorian Concept, Grey Reverend and Heidi Vogel.

Drawing deep from jazz combined with modern electronic production techniques, the influential artists cemented their status as pioneers with 1999 debut Motion.

They have helped pave the way for the next generation of artists such as Floating Points, Kamasi Washington, BADBADNOTGOOD and Ólafur Arnalds.

To celebrate this performance, The Cinematic Orchestra is giving every ticket holder free, exclusive access to four brand new, unreleased tracks. All ticket holders will be emailed a link after the show to receive their download.

The film is directed by Leander Ward.

Ward co-directed, produced and filmed the award-winning The Crimson Wing – Mystery of the Flamingos, the first film in the Disneynature series, with a soundtrack composed by the Cinematic Orchestra.

This event was filmed in the Royal Festival Hall in November 2020 exclusively for the Southbank Centre. Join the global streaming event on Friday 29 January 2021.

Due to unforeseen production delays, and because we want to provide the best possible audience experience, The Cinematic Orchestra decided to postpone the Royal Festival Hall stream planned for Friday 11 December 2020 until Friday 29 January 2021.
