    Robert Ames

The curator, composer and conductor performs the beautiful sonic landscapes of Change Ringing, his latest album.

For Thursday’s performance, support comes from CARBS (Ben Corrigan and Robert Ames), and the special guest is Galya Bisengalieva. And on Friday, support comes from Sasha Scott, while Alex Somers appears as this evening’s special guest.

Multifaceted, daring and explorative are a few words we can use to describe Robert Ames.

This exceptional musician’s new album unites Western tradition with 20th-century electronic techniques to transport us to a peaceful, colourful state of mind.

As a conductor, curator and arranger, Ames has been a key exchange agent between the classical tradition and contemporary music.

Ames works closely with many of the leading figures in new music, including Philip Glass, Meredith Monk and Bryce Dessner.

Recent collaborations include fashion powerhouses Vivienne Westwood, Nike and Alexander McQueen; and musicians including Actress, Frank Ocean and Jonsi.

He has worked with world-class orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra, and has conducted in concert halls around the world.

Ames was the youngest ever shortlisted nominee for the Royal Philharmonic Society’s conductor award in 2019, is the co-founder, artistic director and principal conductor of the London Contemporary Orchestra, and an associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
